Around 9.00 am, an explosion occurred at Altuglas International Bronderslev plant in Jutland – Denmark.

Around 9.00 am, an explosion occurred at Altuglas International Bronderslev plant in Jutland – Denmark.  


We have notified the appropriate authorities and are responding to the accident. At this time, we can confirm the following:


  • The explosion was coming from one of the gas oven and occurred in the production part of the acrylic sheet plant.
  • One employee of our subcontractor was doing operations of maintenance when the explosion occurred. He was injured and he is currently at the hospital in Aalborg.  
  •  The explosion was brought under control with the help of trained Altuglas International on-site employees. A fire has started in the oven but the fire is now extinguished. All the plant is now secured and safe.
  • We are investigating the cause of the explosion.

The plant of Bronderslev is specialised in the production of acrylic sheet (PMMA) working in many sectors of industry, from sign industry to building.

Omkring kl. 9 i morges skete der en eksplosion hos Altuglas International Brønderslev A/S i Danmark.


Alle relevante myndigheder er underrettet og vi tager os af det nødvendige i forbindelse med ulykken.


På nuværende tidspunkt kan vi bekræfte følgende:


  • Eksplosionen kom fra en af gasovnene og fandt sted i det område af fabrikken hvor acrylpladerne produceres.
  •  En ansat fra en af vore underleverandører var i gang med reparationsarbejde da eksplosionen indtraf. Han kom til skade og er for øjeblikket indlagt på hospitalet i Aalborg.
  •  Eksplosionen blev bragt under kontrol med hjælp fra trænet personale fra Altuglas International. En brand opstod i ovnen, men branden er nu slukket. Situationen på fabrikken er nu under kontrol.
  •  Vi undersøger årsagen til eksplosionen.


Fabrikken i Brønderslev er specialiseret i produktion af acrylplader (PMMA) og henvender sig til mange sektorer i industrien – lige fra skilteproduktion til byggeri.
